Warmed on a bed of orange slices, the scent of citrus is infused into your ham, topped with a luscious glaze made from oranges, dark amber maple syrup and dark brown sugar. It creates a glorious finish to a beautiful ham and one stunning presentation for your table.

Growing up, ham was normally reserved for company or holiday meals. I love a good ham. They’re such an easy thing to prepare so it begs the question, why do we wait for holidays to serve them?

This glaze is so ridiculously easy to make. Sliced oranges create the base for the ham to rest on while it bakes. Whisk together orange juice, maple syrup and brown sugar and pour over the ham.

Spoon the glaze over the ham as it slowly warms through, creating a glistening finish. Serve the ham with the warm maple glaze or with our Raisin Sauce!

Maple and Orange Glazed Ham

1 fully cooked spiral cut ham, about 7 to 8 pounds

1-½ cups maple syrup

¾ cup dark brown sugar

½ cup orange juice

2 oranges, sliced – about ¼” thick slices

Pull the ham from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before you’re ready to cook it to take the chill off of it. Lay the oranges slices in a single layer on the bottom of a roasting pan that’s been sprayed with a cooking spray. Place the ham cut side down in a large roasting pan on top of the orange slices.

Whisk the maple syrup, the brown sugar and orange juice together along with any drippings from the ham.

Pour over the ham.

Cover the pan with foil and bake in a 325-degree oven for about 1-½ to 2 hours Cook for approximately 8 to 10 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature is 140-degrees. Spoon the glaze over the ham every 30 minutes.
