A bold, robust coffee swirls alongside a dreamy Irish cream, a splash of hazelnut liqueur and a gorgeous Irish whiskey delivering its spicy notes and hints of fruit to this warm, luscious cocktail. Serve it up in a glass with a smear of hazelnut and cocoa spread tucked inside, slowly melting under the warmth of the coffee. Then finish with a dollop of whipped cream on top! This might be the perfect cocktail to help us recover from daylight savings time with a nod towards St. Patrick’s Day.
The Nutty Irishman could be considered a decked out version of the classic Irish coffee. It too starts with a dark roasted coffee and includes a pour of smooth Irish whiskey. But it takes a turn by stirring in Bailey’s Irish Cream and a touch of a hazelnut liqueur. And to pull out another layer of hazelnut, the inside of the glass is wrapped with a ring of hazelnut and cocoa spread.
Then all that’s needed to button up this decadent cocktail up is a generous spoonful of sweetened whipped cream.
It just might help you forget that we recently lost an hour of sleep!
