The only thing more vibrant than the hue of this classic cocktail is the taste. Bright, citrusy and oh, so refreshing. It’s one gorgeous glass of cheer!

It’s only been in recent years that I discovered Aperol and it’s now a staple alongside my other spirits. This vintage Italian aperitif boasts a bold, bittersweet orange flavor with notes of herbs and vanilla. It’s really quite wonderful and certainly worth having on hand.

The Aperol Spritz is not a new creation, it’s been around for decades. The distinct flavor of Aperol blends beautifully into this simple mid-century cocktail, swirled with chilled Prosecco and a splash of sparkling orange water.

The original recipe calls for soda water. I use sparkling orange water – it’s what I have in my fridge and I love the extra bit of orange it brings along. But you can use any type of sparkling water – you just want that extra fizz.

Serve it over a big glass of ice to complete that perfect chill on your drink.

Serve this lovely cocktail with a slice of orange tucked neatly inside, then sit back and relax. This is way too easy to be so good!
